Transport for London (TfL) explain their Barclays Cycle Hire scheme with animated how-to videos.
Barclays Cycle Hire is a self-service, bike-sharing scheme in London. The scheme was launched by the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, as part of his vision that cycling in London should be an integral part of the transport network.
Film production company, New Moon approached our studio to animate two how-to videos about the scheme; the first, a 'How It Works' guide to hiring, and the second, a 'New To Cycling' guide to staying safe.
We worked with executive producer, Barnaby Logan to create the animated videos. We developed an illustrative style that would not only keep the viewer engaged, but also allow us to feature London’s rich demographics, all while clearly conveying the rules and instructions. Phil Jupitus supplied the step-by-step voice over.
Both of the how-to videos are available to watch on the TfL website; the 'How It Works' guide, playable on the main Barclays Cycle Hire page, has received over 23,000 views since publishing.
