FCB Inferno turn to audio visual media to launch the Nokia Lumia line of smartphones, as part of The Amazing Everyday campaign.
Nokia Lumia was introduced in November 2011, the result of a long-term partnership between Nokia and Microsoft aiming to compete against the iPhone, Android-based devices, and BlackBerry devices. Creative agency, Inferno (now part of DraftFCB) won their multi-million pound campaign to promote the new line smartphones and tablet computers.
With only the existing print campaign and prototype phone as reference, FCB Inferno worked with our studio to develop an audio visual style guide to enable brand consistency across the various agencies working on the campaign. Our team initially created a 3D tile environment, reflecting the characteristics and movements of the Nokia Lumia Windows interface.
Our brief evolved into producing animated media for the Lumia launch - at the Nokia World conference - and on-going use within retail stores, globally. We combined 2D and 3D animation to take the audience on a journey through the Lumia’s new, sleek design and easy-to-use operating system. Sound was provided by Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.
Our final challenge was to develop the media for television advertising. We created six commercials for global broadcast, each with fully editable content for flexibility with international markets; allowing for changes, such as language translations and Lumia market availability.
